STRUCTURE I
STUDIO 1

Moat is an experimental performance practice, a solo devised from a series of body and vocal exercises worked around a moveable iron structure. The structure, designed by the artist, acts at the same time as stage, score and archive, where body and voice trajectories can be experimented with and fixed while examining physical behaviours within the architecture of twentieth century children’s playgrounds.

Moat, in English, is a deep ditch, either empty or full of water, surrounding a castle, fortification, buiding or city as a first line of defense. Moat is a studio project presented on stage; it’s a backlog of exercises yet to be dramatised; of flesh, breath and iron.
